November 17, 2019Jafarabad Mughan is a city of Mughan in Mughan Plain in Sabalan district and Ardebil province on the border with Azerbaijan. Its name in ancient was Yushanabad (Yushan, a plant name in the region).
Jafar Abad Mughan has mild winters and hot and dry summers. The city’s economy relies heavily on agriculture (especially wheat and barley) and livestock in the plains surrounding the city.
Next to Jafarabad, there are two silos (grain warehouses, one with a capacity of 7,000 tons and the other with capacity of one hundred thousand tons) and a livestock industrial unit in the northwest of the city. It also has an agricultural and animal research and experiment center and two gardens called the Forest Park with an area of eighty thousand square meters and Fadak with an area of seven thousand square meters.
